The Gargoyles was one of my favorite TV shows back in the 90′. After 2 glorious seasons, and a pedestrian 3rd one that was done under different staff, the series was canned. The series made a resurgence last year on Disney Plus as the 3 seasons are included with their app.

A in depth Polygon interview  with series creator Greg Weisman shed light on its cancellation, the awful season 3, and the prospect of a live action film based on the property (which is owned by Disney).

Curiously, or maybe ironically O.J. Simpson had a part to play in killing the Gargoyles, as did the massive popularity of the Mighty Morphing Power Rangers.

The Gargoyles were a great ‘binge’ show 25 years before binge shows were a thing. I hope the series is revived one day under Greg Weisman. Until then, I encourage ¬†anyone interested in the series to binge watch it on Disney. It is necessary to let Disney know that there is a market out there for this fascinating property.
