Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII continues to be the most popular and commercially successful game in its portfolio. Naturally, the company has milked the success of the game to no end. Given the game’s 25th anniversary celebration this month it seems that Square Enix is not done yet milking the IP with the arrival of new FFVII related merchandise.

Cloud’s buster sword is an iconic video game weapon, not as iconic as Link’s Master Sword, but given how Square Enix has stretched out the Final Fantasy VII compilation through various releases over the last quarter of a century, it might not be long before the converse is true.
Now, onto the clock itself. Not much is known about it save for the fact that it is targeted for a 2022 release. However, its design features Final Fantasy VII Remake’s buster sword embedded on a black base. The sword itself appears to have an LED digital clock illustrating the timer, and a few LED orbs above it symbolizing two FFVII materia slots.
The clock is a pretty attractive piece of memorabilia for Final Fantasy VII aficionados. Pricing is not readily available, and the physical dimensions of the alarm clock remain a mystery. Still, the existence of this clock bodes well for other iconic Final Fantasy weapons in the future. Final Fantasy VIII’s gun blade would make a nice nightstand item if it were to receive a similar treatment.
